The Clothed Figure

Students will paint the clothed figure in emotional relation to the environments. An exploration of how light, color, design and environment contribute to the make-up of situation, emotional content of the artwork produced will be stressed.

Class Learning outcomes:
As a result of successfully completing this class,
Students will be able to:
*Accurately portray a clothed figure in paint using proper proportion, gesture, and value, color and form.
*Understand the character of clothing, drapery and folds.
*Use light, color, design and environment as devices to establish a desired mood.

Students will be familiar with:
- The various types of folds in clothing.
- The way that the human body affects clothing.
- Environmental influences on the figure (specifically color)
- The use of compositional elements in creating a situation that both evokes an emotional state and
further elaborates a desired objective.
