ESSENTIAL FRAMING: WHAT YOUR FRAMER WISHED YOU KNEW,
AND WHAT HE HOPES YOU NEVER FIND OUT
October 17, 2010
$90
Walker Hall holds a B.A. From Colorado College and has two years experience teaching in Japan. He completed four years of classical training under artist Juliette Aristides and a two-year apprenticeship with Eric Leggett, one of Seattle's most esteemed gilders and custom frame makers.
About the workshop: The last step in picture preparation is notoriously troublesome. Those who remain uninformed or choose to skimp on framing often end up hurting themselves by preventing beautiful presentation of their work. However, beautiful frames are undeniably expensive. This one-day workshop will present useful strategies for nurturing a relationship with your framer and attractive alternatives to paying top dollar for good frames. In addition we go over popular moldings, where one can order stock for Do-It-Yourself framing, and required tools. Each student will learn how to prepare his or her own frame with a professional finish using gold and metal leaf.
Materials: $50 will include a frame and all materials.
