The workshop will consist of daily demonstrations by Scott as well as individual critiques as the students work on their own drawings and paintings. The workshop will begin with everyone doing a linear drawing (either on paper or directly on the canvas). During this phase, lectures will be given on drawing strategy, anatomy and basic perspective as it relates to the figure. Once the drawing is complete painting will begin methodically and rationally with explanations of light, form and color. While the workshop will offer a broad overview of the many concepts involved in figure painting it will also be easily accessible to the beginning painter. Students of all experience levels are welcome.

Scott Waddell has been drawing and painting for as long as he can remember. He majored in fine art as an undergrad and did his post graduate studies at the Florence Academy of Art and the Waterstreet Atelier. He has exhibited throughout the country including the Meredith Long Gallery, Cavalier Gallery and the Atlanta Art Gallery. His work can be found in numerous publications including American Art Collector and American Artist Magazine. He is also an instructor at Grand Central Academy and the Waterstreet Atelier in New York CIty.
