The Portrait in Oils

Course Description: Students completing this workshop will learn a traditional oil painting method working from a live model. There will also be daily instructor demos.
Instructor Bio: Michele Rushworth has painted the official portraits of Washington Governor Gary Locke, Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn, and has been commissioned to create the official portraits of three former Wyoming Governors. Her work has been featured in American Artist Magazine as well as appearing on national television and local news broadcasts. She has created portraits of a retired CEO of the Ford Motor Company, Seattle Mariners baseball player Edgar Martinez, the artistic directors of Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Dean of Campbell University Law School, the CEO of Alliance One International and many private family portrait commissions. She has also taught at the Kirkland Arts Center and been a guest lecturer at the Gage Academy of Art.
